Using Polymetric with your AI
Last updated November 3, 2026
The short version
- Polymetric is a remote MCP server at
https://mcp.polymetric.io/mcp. It lets Claude, ChatGPT and other AI clients read your Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4 and Shopify data. - Create a free account at app.polymetric.io, connect a source, then add Polymetric to your AI client and sign in when it asks.
- Every tool is read-only. Your AI can analyze your data but can't change anything in Google or Shopify.

1. Before you start
- Sign up at app.polymetric.io.
- On the Connectors page, connect Google (for Search Console and GA4) or your Shopify store, and pick which sites, properties and stores your AI may see. Accounts you hide are never shown to your AI.
- Optional: group a website's accounts into a Project, so you can ask about "my store" instead of naming each account.
2. Connect Claude
Works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile apps.
- Open Settings > Connectors and choose Add custom connector (or find Polymetric in the connectors directory once it's listed).
- Enter the URL
https://mcp.polymetric.io/mcpand select Add. - Select Connect, sign in to Polymetric, and approve access.
- In a chat, make sure Polymetric is turned on in the tools menu, then ask a question.
On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner may need to add the connector for the organization first.
3. Connect ChatGPT
- Open Settings > Apps. Until Polymetric is in the ChatGPT apps directory, turn on Developer mode under the advanced settings and choose Create.
- Name it Polymetric, enter
https://mcp.polymetric.io/mcpas the server URL, and choose OAuth authentication. - Sign in to Polymetric and approve access.
- Start a new chat, add Polymetric from the tools menu, and ask a question.
4. Claude Code and other clients
In Claude Code, run:
claude mcp add --transport http polymetric https://mcp.polymetric.io/mcp
then run /mcp to sign in. Any client that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth (such as Cursor or VS Code) can use the same URL. For scripts and clients without OAuth, create an API key in the dashboard under API keys and send it as Authorization: Bearer <key>.
5. Tools
All tools are read-only. Your AI picks the right one; you don't need to name them.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
list_sources | Lists the data sources Polymetric supports. |
list_accounts | Lists the sites, properties and stores you've shared. |
list_projects | Lists your Projects and the accounts in each. |
gsc_search_performance | Search Console clicks, impressions, CTR and position by query, page, country, device or date. |
ga4_report | Google Analytics 4 reports: sessions, users, conversions, revenue and more, by any GA4 dimension. |
shopify_sales_report | Shopify sales, orders and average order value over a period, grouped by product, channel, customer and more. |
shopify_analytics_query | Runs a ShopifyQL query for sessions, conversion, cohorts and other analytics. |
shopify_orders | Lists recent orders with totals, status and line items. |
shopify_products | Lists products with status, price and inventory. |
shopify_customers | Lists customers with order count and amount spent. |
shopify_graphql | Runs a read-only Shopify Admin GraphQL query for anything the other tools don't cover. Changes are rejected. |
6. Example prompts
- "Which Search Console queries for example.com lost the most clicks this month compared with last month?"
- "Show GA4 sessions and conversions by channel for the last 28 days, and point out anything unusual."
- "What were my top 10 Shopify products by sales last month, and how did they compare with the month before?"
- "Find pages with high impressions but a click-through rate under 1%, and suggest new titles."
- "Which products have fewer than 10 units in stock?"
7. Troubleshooting
- "No enabled account": the account isn't shared. Turn it on in the dashboard on the Connectors page, then ask your AI to call
list_accountsagain. - "Needs to be reconnected": the source's sign-in expired or was revoked. Reconnect it on the Connectors page.
- "Isn't included in this workspace's current plan": your plan covers fewer accounts than you've shared. See Pricing, or hide accounts you don't need.
- Your AI can't connect: remove Polymetric from your AI client, add it again, and sign in with the same account you use on app.polymetric.io.
